Prof. Dr. med. Marc O. Schurr, Managing Director, novineon CRO & Consulting Ltd, has substantial professional experience in surgical research and medical device technology. Besides his academic appointment he is founder of the novineon group, an incubator-like corporation with activities in research and regulators affairs and mother company of a successful set of spin-off companies.
He attended medical school in Tuebingen, Germany, including stays in the US and Italy, and took his doctoral degree following relevant research in the area of medical technologies. After graduation from medical school he attended business education at the St. Galler Management Seminar.
Prof. Schurr has been working in medical research and experimental surgery since the 1990s, his scientific results have led to more than 100 publications.
From 1996-2002 he was Director of Steinbeis Transfer Centre Healthcare Technologies and was also in charge of the research program into advanced technology at the section for minimally invasive surgery, Eberhard-Karls University, Tuebingen, Germany. In this function he has initiated and directed a number of international R&D projects.
He is director of IHCI – Institute of Healthcare Industries at Steinbeis University Berlin and is member of the boards of several companies and associations. He entertains close contacts to leading European and American corporations and scientific institutions.
