University Town, or “UTown”, is a beautiful new residential area for students, campus activities, and hosted conferences. UTown is located adjacent to the National University of Singapore campus.

Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the arrival halls of each airport terminals. The journey to the city is estimated to cost between S$18 and S$28, and about S$30 to S$40 to National University of Singapore. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. Fares are metered and there is additional airport surcharge for all trips originating from the airport.

From NUS Kent Ridget Campus
You can walk to UTown by taking the foot bridge from Kent Ridget Crescent to UTown. If you’d rather venture
by bus, NUS has free shuttle services for all guests. Catch a campus bus D1 or D2 to UTown.

By MRT (public train)
Take the MRT train Circle Line (Yellow color) to Kent Ridge station. Exit the train
station and catch the campus shuttle bus A1. Exit at the 2nd stop at Science Drive. Then board campus
bus D2 to UTown.
Visa, Customs, Legal Regulations
Most foreigners coming into Singapore do not require visas for entry and may be given social visit passes for up to 30 days upon their arrival in Singapore. However, it is best to consult your local consular office for the latest information with regards to coming into Singapore.
If you would like to stay in Singapore for a longer period, you may apply to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) upon your arrival. You should have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity, onward or return tickets, onward facilities (such as visas or entry permits) to your next destination, and of course, sufficient funds for your stay in Singapore.
Should you lose your passport while in Singapore, please make a police report immediately and approach your embassy in Singapore to apply for a replacement travel document. You should also report to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for a visit pass which will regularise your stay in Singapore. Click here for list of embassies in Singapore.
